Teen Angst

Last night was one of my friend’s last night on Long Island because she’s going back to school today.  So a few of us hung out and we watched a movie.  Not really a movie I would voluntarily see, but she already had it picked out and so, there you have it.  What was the movie, you ask?  John Tucker Must Die.  Oh, you’ve heard of it?  Yeah, it’s a teen flick.

It’s about this high schooler, John Tucker, who has multiple girlfriends from different cliques so none of them know he’s dating the others.  Well, they all find out and the 3 of them band together with a nobody and deside to ruin John.  They use the nobody to go out with John and slowly destroy his popularity.  But of course, it’s never that easy.  She likes someone else, and then he sees that she’s with John and he gets upset, and then people lie and deceive.  It’s a big mess.  But it always works out in the end.  However, I must say that in this movie it wasn’t a big mess as other teen flicks are.  Usually the one who likes the other person and finds out his/her secret usually starts yelling and the other person can’t explain their actions because they can’t get a word in.  And there’s always a lot of crying.  At a few points in the movie I giggled a little bit.  But I wouldn’t go as far as to compare it with a Young Frankenstein.  P.S. Jenny McCarthey was in the movie.  I like her.  Remember that show, Singled Out on MTV.  She was the host.  It was a good show.  She’s silly.  In conclusion, this was an ok movie.  I wouldn’t see it again if I had to, though.  I’m good with seeing it once.  Oh, and no one died, I’m a little dissapointed.  There should have been something that lived up to the title.
