I’m going to switch up my blog a little bit. It’s still a movie blog, but today I am not going to be reviewing a movie. I am going to talk to you about ‘movie etiquette.’ Yes, there is such a thing. I abide by it dearly. Remember when I reviewed The Holiday and I wrote about the man who sat behind me and made loud and obnoxious comments? Basically, it’s that, and some other stuff, too. So let’s get to it!
When you deside that you are going to see a movie with your boyfriend/girlfriend, wife/husband, friends, or with yourself, there are rules to follow. Not guidelines. These are rules. You need to follow them because if you don’t and you decide to break any of these rules while I am around you, I will curse you out. Anyways.
Rule 1: Do not talk during a movie if you are in a movie theater. The only time you can talk is if it’s really quiet and you are telling your company that you are a) going to the bathroom, b) getting refreshments, c) you want to quietly comment about what just happened to Leo.
Rule 2: Before you are about to go see a funny movie, ask a close friend to tell you if you have an annoying laugh. Tell them to be honest. There is always that 1 person in the theater who has the loud and annoying laugh. It could be you. I’m not trying to be mean, but those laughs are annoying.
Rule 3: When something funny happens in a movie, sometimes people have to repeat it again right then and there. Wait until the movie is over.
Rule 4: Do not curse extremely loud. Families go see movies sometimes with young children. They don’t need to hear that. I know I said I would curse you out, but that’s after the movie is done. I curse myself, but I don’t do it around young kids. You shouldn’t either.
Rule 5: If you are a parent with young children (i.e. babies) do not bring them to the movies. Please try and find a babysitter, or if you can’t, don’t come. Babies cry, a lot. They do it whenever. It is annoying when they do it during a movie. Please be respectful of your other movie patrons. If you decide to bring baby and he/she begins to cry, bring him/her outside of the theater into the lobby until they calm down.
Rule 6: Do not throw your refreshments around the theater. It could hit someone you don’t know. They don’t like that.
Rule 7: If someone is sitting in front of you, do not put your feet up on the chair and shake your leg. It moves the chair in front of you. No one likes that. If someone is sitting in front of you, put your feet on the ground or sit Indian Style. If no one is in front of you, go right ahead and put your feet up and shake all you want.
Rule 8: If someone is sitting in front of you and you get up to go somewhere, do not use the chair in front of you to help you get up, especially if these chairs are rocking ones in the fancy movies theaters.
Rule 9: Everyone gets colds. If you have a nasty cough, and you start coughing during the movie, get a drink, lozenge, or go outside. I understand what your going through, I get horrible coughs. But sometimes if you are coughing too loud, no one can hear the movie.
I believe that is all the rules I have for you. I’m sorry if I came across as Bitchy to you, but I hold these rules dear to my heart. You are allowed to break them when you are seeing a movie in your own home. I do it.
Now I will tell you of great snacks to enjoy when seeing a movie.
Popcorn: Everyone knows this is a staple movie food. Get whatever size you want. And please, add butter and salt. Make sure you get enough napkins.
Candy: I love candy and I know you do, too. However, only certain candy should be eaten. Chocolates (plain, covering anything), peanut butter (reeses, butterfinger), star bursts, sour patch kids, gummy bears. I do not suggest other sour items because they tend to be larger, the same goes for other gummies.
Drinks: Soda or water. Don’t get the slushies or the drink that is in the dispenser where you can see through it that usually has ice tea and lemonade in it. Those drinks tend to be too sweet or not sweet at all. And save the slushies for 7-11.
If you ever go into one of the fancy movie theaters, I don’t suggest getting Nathan’s or pizza. If you do, eat it before you go into the theater, or after.
I suggest that you get any of the items mentioned above at a convenience store because it is a lot cheaper. Stuff it in your pockets, or if you have a friend who has a large bag with them, ask them if you can hide it in there.
I hope this helps you out. Please suggest more movies
