I got a request to write about my favorite Adam Sandler movie. I like a few of them. However, I did not enjoy Click very much, and I dare not see Punch Drunk Love or Spanglish. I like him when he’s funny. It bothers me when comedians try to do serious movies. Stick with what you know. Anyways, on to my favorite AS movie.
Like I said I like a couple, but I will just choose one.
Happy Gilmore. It’s a fan favorite. He starts out as this crappy hockey player who turns out to be really good at golf. But golf is this quiet, old man’s sport. Adam comes in and turns it around. Now a whole different genre of people come to watch Happy play. If you’ve never seen this movie, that’s Sandler’s character’s name, Happy. He is trying to raise money so his grandma can move back into her house that got reposessed from her because she didn’t pay her taxes. You feel so bad for grandma. She has to live in a nursing home where Ben Stiller plays an asshole of an orderly. This is one of Sandler’s first films, and he did a good job. My favorite character is his homeless caddy. He takes baths in the golf ponds. But yeah, you definitely need to see this if you haven’t. I also recommend Big Daddy and The Waterboy. Though, the first time I saw it, I didn’t really like Waterboy. I had to see it a few times before I did.
P.S. Adam Sandler is a SNL alumni!
