On Saturday I went to the movies with my cousins. We saw Pan’s Labyrinth. It got some Oscars so we figured we’d give it a go.
First off, I liked it. However, it was a little creepy and a little gory. You know how I hate gore, so I looked away at those parts. But it’s set in 1944 Spain. A little girl, Ofelia, and her mother are moving to the country to be with her mother’s new husband, the Captain. Her mother is pregnant with el Capitan’s son, and she is sick from it. On the way to the country, Ofelia, who likes to read, sees a fairy. When they get to the country-house, an old mill, Ofelia explores and finds a rundown labyrinth. The fairy visits her again and brings her to the labyrinth and into a hole where she meets a faun (not a deer). It tells her that she is a princess of his world and that in order to become immortal and live with her real father again, she must do 3 tasks. Meanwhile, the captain is a real douche bag and he’s trying to fight off guerillas in the woods. I won’t say anymore, because you need to see it. I would see it again, it was really good. I’m glad I went. Oh yeah, we went to Sayville movie theater to see it. General admission there is $7! And matinee is $5. It’s probably the cheapest theatre on eart, so go there if you want to see a movie. It only has 3 theaters, though.

I was asked what my favorite Star Wars movie was. Well, I like all 3 movies from the old trilogy. But out of those, my favorite is Return of the Jedi. It has Jabba the Hutt, and his creatures, and Ewoks gallore. It’s a very climatic episode and it’s fun to watch. Empire Strikes Back is good, it’s dark though. And in A New Hope, the characters are just developing. And I wasn’t a big fan of the newer movies. Episode 3 was okay, but it will never beat out the old ones.
My roommate really liked this movie. Im requesting The Goonies.
